Kunstroute Leiden: Henk Bexkens
Retrospective, the Leiden years
In memory of Henk Bexkens, EST presents a retrospective of his work during Kunstroute Leiden on September 26 and 27. Featuring a series of 9 “snail trails,” a series of 24 of his color studies, a selection ofhis wall sculptures from the 1990s, html animations, and audio. Henk Bexkens was born in 1954 in Zwolle, the Netherlands, grew up in Venray, went to the HTS in Venlo before he went to art school in Maastricht (1976 - 1981) and the post academy Jan van Eck (1981-1983). He continued to work in Maastricht until his move to Leiden in 1998. This exhibition is about the Leiden years. Bexkens passed away in february 2026.
